    Uštipci is a type of food resembling krofne, but in terms of their ingredients, it resembles bread. They are made all over the world in a similar way, but the closest to the ones you can find in the countries of former Yugoslavia are the Dutch “Oliebollen”. Uštipci are ideal for breakfast or dinner, paired equally well with both sweet and savory additions. The sweet ones are nicely complemented with jam, honey and powdered sugar, while the savory ones, if you have a chance, should be eaten with kaymak or ajvar.
